Not know a great fat lot about MOSS I was not sure this would be of much interest, but in fact I found it very interesting. I have seen the usual demos about the flashy features etc, but never the dirty unpkoen truths about how to get it to do those flash things...this was refreshing and I just don't understand why my workplace refuse to use it...not because they are anti-MOSS, but insist it is too hard to set up...it seems the hard work of setting it up those is worth while.

I have yet to see SharePoint used for a line of business app, as an alternative to WinForms or Access app. Everybody demos blogs, wikis, etc. – just an idea for a future talk. Well organised as always - thank you Richard & John!

A large subject area - was interesting to see the lesson learned and after a while it dawned that the toolset for SharePoint is pretty crap. Dave's presentation style was up to it's usual standard, had to fill while waiting for SharePoint to complete a task, was entertaining and informative – the best combination. The ‘Solutions & Features’ bit showed the potential that could be used. I didn’t get to ask a question about dev, test & live environments and how you would roll out a version 2 of a site (or site collection) which included database (list) changes and talking the existing data into the new app. – a good talk

Geff's nugget was a very good introduction and overview of WCF services. It was also good to get a glimpse of some of the new time-saving features in VS2008. Only downside for me was that the font size was too small to read from the back. By the time I was about to ask the question, the nugget was finished. Overall, good on Geff for doing this. Well done.

Good overview, and getting to learn from someone elses hard earned knowledge will hopefully save hours of frustration in the future - these kinds of 'real world' reports are incredibly useful.

Nice quick overview of WCF.

Dave McMahon MOSS - "Tales From The Front"
Over the past 12 months Dave has been working with Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007 or MOSS, and in this 75 min session he brings "Tales From The Front" with some ideas about how to practically implement production Intranet/Extranet systems using MOSS. Where does the marketing end and the reality begin? Is it really the next Web Development Platform? What actually is a Site Collection and what does it mean in terms of deployment issues? How do you solve these issues? What is a Feature in terms of MOSS? Answers to these and other questions which Dave has encountered in the last 12 months will be covered through the medium of a plethora of demonstrations.
Geff Lombardi The WCF Hosting Nugget
Tired of having to write host and client applications to test a WCF service ? In this nugget I will demonstrate how to create, host and consume a WCF service very quickly using VS2008.
