It's grown from a Document Management system into an Enterprise Platform capable of being scaled out to serve thousands of users, provide a platform for BI, CMS, EDM and a whole bunch of other stuff. But how exactly does it work? At it's centre is Windows SharePoint Services 3.0. Given enough time and effort you could pretty much reproduce Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007 yourself using WSS 3.0. In this session Dave will do a dive into the basics of how SharePoint works and cover things like Site Collections, Webs, Site Provisioning, SiteDefintions, Features and Solutions. At the end of this session, the mysterious world of SharePoint will be mysterious no more and it will appear for what it is ... a rather large ASP.NET Application with a few bells and whistles ... |
